VIDEO: 57-year-old farmer arrested over murder of two in Cross River



The Police in Cross River State have arrested a 57-year-old farmer, Samuel Sunny Udoh, for allegedly killing two persons in Odukpani Local Government Area of the state.Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, said the command received a missing person report on May 25 from one Regina Akan Patrick, who reported that her husband, Akan Patrick, had gone to his farm in Okong community and failed to return.She explained that her husband usually stays on the farm for about a week before returning home after completing his work, but all efforts to reach him after his departure proved abortive.Eitokpah said investigations by the police led to the arrest of the suspect.During interrogation, the suspect reportedly told police that in November 2025, two youths identified as Akan Patrick and one Mr Imoh allegedly confronted him at his farm, demanding 14 bags of cannabis sativa he was cultivating.He alleged that the duo came armed to intimidate him, but said community leaders intervened after he reported the matter, only to discover that his claims could not be substantiated.According to him, the leaders ordered the release of the two men who had been tied during questioning.The suspect further claimed that while accompanying them, a confrontation ensued and the men attempted to attack him, prompting him to push both into a
