President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordaan, has sent a goodwill message to the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday. Jordaan extended his best wishes to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), with a special mention to former NFF president Amaju Pinnick, whom he described as a friend. The message was conveyed in a video posted on social media by the federation. “Nigeria was in our group. It was a very tight group and stressed in the end,” Jordaan said. “So, I want to wish Nigeria all the best for their match. To Pinnick, my friend, and to all, the President of the NFF, all the best.” He praised the quality of the Nigerian team, expressing confidence in their ability to perform at the highest level. “Nigeria is a big team. Nigeria has got players among the best in the world, and I hope they’ll play through to their form and ability and deliver the result,” he added. Nigeria and DR Congo advanced to the playoff final after defeating Gabon and Cameroon, respectively. The winner of Sunday’s clash at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Morocco will edge closer to securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
