Police arrest suspect ‘Super M’ in Lagos, recover locally made pistol

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M,” during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of the state. In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said officers led by the Divisional Police Officer intercepted the suspect after he was observed acting suspiciously while carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag. According to the statement, operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team from Mushin Division stopped the suspect around 10:00 p.m. on March 5 along the LUTH Road axis. A search of the bag allegedly led to the recovery of a locally made pistol. The statement said, “The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another operational success with the arrest of one Dare Shogaolu ‘m’, aged 30, also known as “Super M”, and the recovery of a locally made pistol during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of the State. “On 5th March 2026 at about 10:00pm, operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of Mushin Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), while on routine patrol along LUTH Road axis, Mushin, accosted a suspicious-looking man carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag. “ Other items reportedly recovered from the suspect include a black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers. Police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had been involved in criminal activities within the area and was allegedly responsible for disturbances in the community. He is currently in police custody while investigations continue. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect has been involved in some criminal activities within the area and has allegedly been responsible for causing disturbances in the community. “The suspect is currently in Police custody while investigation is ongoing.
