Kigali, March 22, 2025 – Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has moved past Segun Odegbami on Nigeria’s all-time top scorers list after netting a goal in Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali. The Galatasaray forward, who was previously level with Odegbami on 23 goals, struck in the 11th minute after a well-placed free-kick cross from Ademola Lookman. With the goal, Osimhen now has 24 international goals, surpassing the Nigerian football legend. Osimhen Closing in on Yekini’s Record The 26-year-old is now second only to Rashidi Yekini, who remains Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer with 37 goals. Osimhen’s goal-scoring form keeps him on track to challenge Yekini’s long-standing record.
