Turkish football pundit and commentator Levent Tüzemen has identified Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as Galatasaray’s biggest advantage in their bid to sign Ademola Lookman from Italian side Atalanta. Tüzemen made the claim while speaking on the Libero TV YouTube channel, where he provided updates on Galatasaray’s transfer activities during the ongoing January window. According to the respected analyst, Osimhen is actively playing a role in persuading his Nigeria teammate to consider a move to Istanbul, as interest in Lookman intensifies from top Turkish clubs. “Victor Osimhen is one of those trying to convince Lookman to transfer to Galatasaray,” Tüzemen said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi. He disclosed that both Galatasaray and rivals Fenerbahçe are currently in talks over the Atalanta forward, but stressed that Osimhen’s presence could tilt the balance in Galatasaray’s favour. “Both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are in talks. However, Osimhen is the biggest advantage for Galatasaray,” he added. His future, however, continues to attract speculation amid renewed interest. Both Osimhen and Lookman are presently on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, where they are part of Nigeria’s campaign for continental glory. Galatasaray are understood to be keen on strengthening their attacking options, and a potential reunion of the Nigerian duo in Istanbul could significantly boost the club’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe.
