NNL Super 8: Crown FC Coach Ayeni Rallies Team After Opening Day Loss

Head coach of Crown FC, Ayodeji Ayeni, has urged his players to remain focused and bounce back stronger following their 1-0 defeat to Kun Khalifat FC in the opening game of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8. The match, which took place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, saw the Ajilete Warriors fall short despite a spirited performance. Speaking after the game, Coach Ayeni emphasized that the setback would not derail the club’s promotion ambitions. “As you can see, it is a marathon. It’s not yet over for any team,” he said. “Our first match doesn’t determine the league and ambition. We can go ahead and win the next two matches.” Crown FC will look to revive their campaign when they face Osun United in their second group match scheduled for Monday. The team remains hopeful of securing one of the promotion spots to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
