Nigeria Drawn in Group A with Ghana, Benin for Inaugural WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been drawn into Group A alongside hosts Ghana and Benin Republic for the inaugural edition of the WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place from Thursday, July 10 to Wednesday, July 23. The draw, announced by the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, also placed Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Togo in Group B. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals of the regional tournament, which aims to identify and develop young football talent within the West African sub-region. Led by Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Flying Eagles are expected to use the tournament as a crucial part of their build-up to the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations is a new addition to the West African football calendar, created to give national youth teams increased competitive exposure and foster talent development across the region.
