Lyon’s highly rated winger Malick Fofana could be on his way to one of Europe’s elite clubs, according to his representatives at Roc Nation Sports. The 20-year-old Belgian international attracted significant transfer interest during the summer window but ultimately remained with the Ligue 1 side. His camp, however, believes a big move is only a matter of time. Speaking to Belgian newspaper De Morgen, Roc Nation executive Frederico Pena said Fofana’s ambition is to use the current season to establish himself on the world stage — particularly with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon. “This is the season in which Fofana wants to show himself to the world, especially at the World Cup,” Pena said. “If he succeeds, he can move from Lyon to a top 10 club. At Roc Nation, we strongly believe in him. Liverpool, Bayern [Munich], Manchester City — those are the clubs where he belongs.” Fofana, who has been one of Lyon’s standout performers this season, is reportedly valued at over £50 million, making him the club’s most marketable asset. The pacey winger’s performances in Ligue 1 have drawn comparisons to several Premier League stars, with scouts from Liverpool, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich said to be monitoring his progress closely. If Fofana maintains his current form, Lyon could face a battle to keep hold of their emerging star when the transfer window reopens next summer.
