FUTO VC BRIEFS PRESS AHEAD OF 2024/2025 CONVOCATION CEREMONY

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Prof. Mrs. Nnenna Nnanna Oti, on Monday, held a press briefing ahead of the 2024/2025 Convocation Ceremony at the Senate Building.

The event, which began at exactly 11:00 AM with the VC’s arrival, had in attendance principal officers, faculty Deans, staff advisers, senior lecturers, the press, SUG PRO, Surveillance Newspaper, NEXT MEDIA, and NTA.

Following an opening prayer by the Chairman of Deans and the national anthem, introductions were made. The press chairman gave the opening remark, after which the VC delivered her address.

In her speech, she highlighted her administration’s achievements, awards, recognitions, and shared that 366,000 students will be graduating, including several first-class graduates across faculties. She also acknowledged existing challenges and ongoing efforts to address them.

The VC officially declared the convocation open, announcing seminars on Wednesday and Thursday with the Governor of Abia State expected, and Friday set for the main convocation. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Remi Uche and closing appreciation from the VC.
