The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays in commemoration of this year’s Easter celebration.
Making the announcement on behalf of the government, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extended heartfelt congratulations to Christians in Nigeria and across the diaspora as they mark the Easter season.
The Minister urged all Nigerians to emulate the exemplary life of Jesus Christ by upholding the timeless values of selflessness, forgiveness, patience, and love.
He also called on citizens to remain steadfast in promoting unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, which he described as essential ingredients for national stability and development.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to policies aimed at fostering national renewal, economic growth, and inclusive prosperity for all Nigerians.
He wished Christians a serene and joyous Easter celebration filled with peace and blessings.
