Bayern Munich have opened discussions with Harry Kane over a possible extension of his contract, according to the club’s sporting director, Max Eberl. Kane, 32, joined the German champions from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 on a four-year deal worth an initial €100 million. Since his arrival in Munich, the England captain has been a key figure for Bayern, scoring 119 goals and providing 30 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions. The striker also ended his long wait for major silverware last season, playing a central role in Bayern’s 2024–25 Bundesliga title triumph. Speaking at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt, Eberl confirmed that talks with Kane were ongoing but stressed that no immediate decision was required. “We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” Eberl said. “Everyone knows that at some point a decision has to be made.” Kane has previously signalled his openness to extending his stay in Germany. In October 2025, he said he could “definitely” see himself remaining at Bayern and admitted that his desire to return to the Premier League had reduced since settling in Munich. The forward has continued his remarkable scoring form this season, netting 34 goals in 30 matches for Vincent Kompany’s side. Of those, 21 have come in just 19 Bundesliga appearances, as Kane closes in on Robert Lewandowski’s long-standing record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign. Kane has also played a vital role in Bayern’s European campaign, helping the club climb to second place in their Champions League group with one game remaining. Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said the club is under no pressure to rush negotiations, pointing to Kane’s comfort both on and off the pitch. “Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled here, so there is absolutely no reason to hurry.” Kane’s continued impact has made him one of the most influential signings in Bayern’s recent history, and any contract extension would further underline the club’s desire to build around the prolific striker in the coming years.
