Akwa Ibom APC adopts gov for second term



The All Progressives Congress in the Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has adopted Governor Umo Eno as its sole governorship candidate ahead of the party primaries and the forthcoming general elections. The party also adopted Nelson Ntia, Senator Ekong Sampson and Dr Eunice Thomas as consensus candidates for the state House of Assembly, Senate and House of Representatives, respectively. According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Ekerete Udoh, the resolutions were reached during an enlarged stakeholders’ and party members’ meeting held on Wednesday at the residence of the political leader of the party in Onna, Pat Ifon. Speaking at the meeting, the Onna APC Chairman, Tom Nkanang, urged members to remain united ahead of the elections.
