AFCON 2025: Ndidi Offers to Pay Super Eagles’ Unpaid Bonuses Ahead of Algeria Clash

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has stepped in to calm tensions within the Nigerian camp by offering to personally settle the team’s unpaid bonuses amid delays from the Nigerian authorities. Ndidi made the pledge as he appealed to his teammates to remain focused and avoid any disruption to preparations ahead of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 quarter-final clash against Algeria on Saturday in Marrakech. In a remarkable show of leadership and sacrifice, the Leicester City midfielder disclosed that he had taken personal responsibility to ensure the matter does not affect team morale. “I’ve now made a commitment to the staff and players that I’ll personally pay the bonuses if the authorities fail to do so before Saturday,” Ndidi stated. “I don’t want these unpaid bonuses to affect our preparations.
